Job Description

We are a technology consulting firm partnering with a leading telecommunications client to appoint an experienced Change Manager for an initial 2-month contract.

This role will play a critical part in establishing and driving API governance, adoption, and enablement across multiple operating companies (OpCos).

What you'll do:

  • Governance Function
    • Establish and operationalise a centralised API governance function
    • Define governance structures including:
      • Forums and working groups
      • Roles and responsibilities
      • Decision-making authorities
    • Develop and implement API standards and policies, covering:
      • API design
      • Security
      • Naming conventions
      • Versioning
    • Implement conformance and compliance processes, including:
      • Design reviews
      • Certification gates
    • Introduce governance workflows and approval checkpoints
    • Enable robust governance reporting and tracking mechanisms
  • Adoption & Enablement
    • Drive consistent adoption of API standards and best practices across delivery teams and OpCos
    • Coordinate and align adoption efforts across multiple OpCos
    • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across central and regional teams
    • Deliver enablement sessions, workshops, and knowledge transfer initiatives
    • Track and monitor adoption metrics, progress, and outcomes

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Change Management within large, complex environments
  • Strong experience establishing or supporting governance frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience driving adoption, enablement, and organisational change initiatives
  • Ability to work across multiple stakeholders and distributed teams
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience working in a telecommunications environment
  • Knowledge of TM Forum (TMF) frameworks and standards
  • Exposure to API governance / API management programmes
  • Ability to influence and drive adoption without direct authority
  • Strong organisational and coordination capability across multiple OpCos
  • Practical, delivery-focused approach to governance and change
  • Ability to translate strategy into actionable adoption outcomes
